Let your feelings explode through poetry! Get inspired by poems and song lyrics, then break a few rules as you experiment with words, rhythm, and rhyme to create something uniquely yours. Play with language, try new ideas, and share your creations with the group if you feel comfortable.

This writing workshop is geared to youth ages 11-14.

About the Instructor

Burlington-based author Sylvia McNicoll has written more than 40 books for young readers worldwide. She has taught writing in libraries and classrooms across Canada and internationally. Her latest novel, Blue to the Sky, follows a 13-year-old navigating allergies and a fear of public speaking.
