Watch Free Outdoor Movies This Summer

Back for 2025! Enjoy free outdoor movies near you this summer! Nothing tells you it’s summertime like the release of the movies in the park schedule!

You may be asking why I love an outdoor movie so much. I’ll tell you! I really think these are the ideal family activity for a summer evening. Very little preparation needs to go into the outing. We sometimes picked up McDonalds or a cheap pizza and ate it picnic-style on the grass before the movie started. Other times we get kid-approved charcuterie-style dinners. For some reason, kids will eat lots of anything when it’s served al fresco!

I don’t know about your kids, but mine loved going to the free outdoor movies in the park in their pajamas, and that made the transition to bed pretty easy. Another win!

My kids loved that this was an event filled with other kids. It was like their version of Coachella haha! Big performance, people everywhere and a very casual vibe. They’ll meet and make new friends and the fresh air will tire them out. Many of the free outdoor movies are help at big park spaces, so there’s usually a playground to enjoy and maybe even a splash pad! Maybe it’s better than Coachella?

What Should You Bring To Movies In The Park?

You don’t need much to make this casual outdoor activity with kids great. Here’s what we suggest bringing with you to the free outdoor movie night

  • Camping chair or picnic blanket to sit on
  • Drinks and snacks for everyone
  • Wear your fave jammies
  • Bring a small blanket just in case the temp drops once the sun goes down
  • Bug spray – just in case
  • Something to do before the movie starts – a frisbee, a ball, skipping rope, a scooter, an activity book, etc.

What Free Outdoor Movies Are Playing in 2025?

Here is the list of scheduled dates and locations for Outdoor Movie Nights in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Niagara. Keep your eyes on the forecast and if it looks questionable, confirm the movie is still playing before heading to the park.
