Emancipation Day Picnic

The Emancipation Day Picnic will feature an afternoon of live music, cultural performances, and interactive experiences for the whole family. Headlining the event will be The Real Blues Jammers with Mike Branton, a blues band bringing their signature sound to the celebration. They will be joined by Yaadie Tree-O, a gospel choir performance that will add to the afternoon’s musical celebration. Guests will also enjoy an interactive African drumming workshop with Babarinde Williams of Drums et al, offering an opportunity to experience the rhythms and traditions of African drumming. The celebration will also feature a performance by CCAH Steelpan, showcasing the vibrant sounds of Caribbean steelpan music, and more.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy delicious food available for purchase, along with complimentary ice cream treats on us, from Mr. Iceberg Ice Cream Truck! Community vendor booths will also line the venue, featuring local organizations, businesses, and community services, as well as family-friendly activities including face painting, games, and crafts for everyone.
