The City invites residents to a family-friendly celebration of National Public Works Week at the annual Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at its new location, Nelson Park, 4183 New St.
This free event offers an opportunity to explore the wide range of vehicles and equipment used to deliver essential City services. The event will feature large-scale trucks, a Burlington Transit bus, construction equipment, a snowplow simulator and much more.
Touch-a-Truck is back!
To celebrate Public Works Week, come join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nelson Park (4183 New St.) for our annual Touch-a-Truck event.
This free, family-friendly event gives residents and their families a chance to:
Get an up-close look at City vehicles, including a Burlington Transit bus, street sweeper, snowplow, fire truck, zamboni, and more!
Learn about City services by visiting booths hosted by staff from across departments
Try out snowplow and backhoe simulators
Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation.Admission and parking are free. Parking is limited and carpooling or taking Burlington Transit is encouraged.
