Each Sunday features a unique theme, family-friendly activities, and hands-on crafts. See below for what is coming up on Sundays in July!
July 5 Trade Secrets:
We are highlighting the trades in the village. Kids will get an activity book that will challenge them to visit 6 of the trades and achieve level of apprentice by completing an activity in each space. The buildings include the Tailor Shop, Spinning and Weaving Shop, Print Shop, Boot and Harness Shop, Cabinetmaker Shop, and Blacksmith Shop.
Today’s Family Craft is a booklet of activities.
July 12 Stitch in Time:
We are highlighting the needlecrafts and fibre arts that one might see through the various time periods. Quilting, rug hooking, embroidery, knitting and more will be part of the afternoon.
Today’s Family Craft is to weave a paper mat.
July 19 Colour Your World:
We are highlighting the artistic talents of some of our volunteers. A painting lesson on the green, explore the world of pigments and paints and dyeing fibres using items from nature at the Marr Spinning and Weaving Shop. The schoolteacher will be at the school giving an art lesson on this Sunday.

July 26 A Day in the Kitchen:
What else happens in the historic kitchens? We cook and bake, but what other activities might happen in this space?
Today’s Family Craft is to make a note card – Jam Jar theme!
August 2 and August 3 Milk and Honey
This family-friendly event explores the history, science, and traditions of dairy and honey production in Ontario from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s through hands-on activities, demonstrations, games, and interactive experiences across the village.
This year’s event will also feature milk and bee-themed activities, including:

- Milking demonstrations and a chance to try yourself!
- Bee box demonstrations (no bees on-site)
- Bee and milk trivia and games
- Victorian carnival games
- Crafts for all ages
- Baking demonstrations
- And more!
Westfield is again partnering with Summit Station Dairy, a multigenerational dairy farm rooted in the Hamilton community, and they will have milk for sale by the General Store.
Enjoy some yummy treats while you’re here! The Copetown Lions Food Truck will be on-site with food items for purchase, including fries and hamburgers. At the General Store, candies, cold soda pops, and honey straws are available for purchase. An 1800s-era travelling salesman will have honey products for sale.
