First weekend in June and we have suggestions on how to make the most of it!

Visit from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm at the Burlington Model Railway Centre, Hidden Valley Park and see operating model railroads in three different scales. Admission is free, donations will be gratefully accepted, BBQ and refreshments will be available.

“It’s not about what it IS, it’s about what is can BECOME” is a fantastic quote form The Lorax. Take your kids to experience this timeless Dr. Seuss film at SilverCity on Brant St. for only $2.99. All part of the Family Favourites series.

Your little creatives will love the $2 Saturday morning crafts at the new Michael’s stores. This week the kids are making a pastel butterfly.

The exhibit “Beyond Sit & Stay: Dogs in Our Service” explores the many ways in which dogs assist humans including detection, security and therapy. The exhibit has been developed with the support of the Halton Regional Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Lions Foundation, St. John Ambulance and the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. Visit Kelso Conservation area and experience it with your family.

Kids of all ages are invited to drop into Chapters between 11am and noon to and swap mini figurines with other Lego and Shopkins enthusiasts!

Get the kids in their jammies and get them outside under the stars! Crawford Lake Pajama Party staff will ignite their imaginations as they explore natural phenomena such as coyote howls, star gazing, bat watching and much more. Themes change monthly but the night always ends with a tasty treat and a chance to relax around the campfire!

The Appleby Line Street Festival is a free family-fun community event bringing families, churches, businesses, schools and organizations together by creating an open street for the neighbourhood to gather and participate in activities, a marketplace and demonstrations.

Every Sunday, the Art Gallery of Burlington hosts an Open Studio, which welcomes families to visit and explore different art mediums and materials, all for free! My kids are huge fans, have you been to the Creative Hub?

Join Burlington’s 25th annual Kite Festival. Build a kite or bring your own and help fill the sky with colour. Join us for some free family fun, entertainment and vendors. Kite building materials are available, while supplies last.
