DESCRIPTION:All Tickets are just $9.25! Sponsored by the Merchants of Westdale Village. \nSpecial Easter Weekend screenings! \nGinger\, Bunty\, Babs and Fowler are chickens who are trapped on their farm in the English countryside and desperately want to escape. If they don’t produce any eggs for the week\, Mr. and Ms. Tweedy will have their heads. After numerous attempts\, they continually fail\, and time is running out. When it seems like all hope is lost\, an American rooster named Rocky falls out of the sky and into their midst. Having witnessed Rocky seemingly able to fly unassisted\, Ginger now realizes that the only way out is to fly the coop. With Rocky’s help\, the chickens hatch their plan to learn the trade of flying\, before they all end up in the Tweedys’ new chicken pie-making contraption.

SUMMARY:Little Amelie\, or the Character of the Rain (Dubbed)
DESCRIPTION:Nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Animated Motion Picture! \n‘Dubbed’ screenings will be presented with an English soundtrack. \nFor the first three years of life\, a child is closer to the divine than the human. That’s the belief of baby Amelie\, at least\, born to Belgian parents stationed in Japan in the early 1960s. Her first\, transcendent\, taste of Belgian chocolate (a gift from visiting Granny) seals the deal: Amelie is a god. She’s also something of a monster – compelling her parents to engage a nanny\, Nishio-San\, to preserve their sanity and restore order to the household. It’s Nishio-San whose influence will shape the evolution of the toddler to the next stage of childhood. \nAdapted from Amelie Nothomb’s 2000 memoir The Character of Rain and influenced by both western and Japanese aesthetics\, this delicately animated feature is robustly amusing\, shaded with profound emotional truths.

SUMMARY:The Sound of Music at the Westdale
DESCRIPTION:Originally Shown at the Westdale! (Oct. 4-18\, 1975) \nIn 1930s Austria\, a young woman named Maria (Julie Andrews) is failing miserably in her attempts to become a nun. When Navy Captain Georg Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) writes to the abbey asking for a governess that can handle his seven mischievous children\, Maria is given the job. His wife is dead\, he is often away\, and he runs the household as strictly as he does the ships he sails on. The children are unhappy and resentful of the governesses that he keeps hiring and have managed to run each of them off one by one. When Maria arrives\, she is initially met with the same hostility\, but her kindness\, understanding\, and sense of fun soon draws the children to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives\, including the Captain’s. Eventually he and Maria find themselves falling in love\, and their romance makes them both start questioning the decisions they have made. Their personal conflicts soon become overshadowed\, however\, as Austria is about to come under Nazi Germany’s control\, and the Captain may soon find himself drafted into the German Navy and forced to fight against his own country.
