DESCRIPTION:Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5 to 11 and this year’s national theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home”\, which aims to educate the public about using these batteries safely\, and stresses the importance of buying\, charging\, and recycling them properly to prevent fires. \nCome out to see exciting fire and rescue demonstrations and meet our Oakville Fire team.  Participate in the junior firefighter challenge and other activities including a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog\, inflatable air rides\, a smoke room simulator\, the junior firefighter water squirt\, and other fire safety games. Kids can also check out the fire trucks\, including Pumper 8\, the town’s antique fire truck. \nFree parking and shuttle bus service provided by Oakville Transit will be available at the Bronte GO station. The last shuttle will leave Bronte GO at 2:45 p.m. Parking at the training campus is reserved for people with limited mobility or medical conditions. Service animals are welcome\, while pets are asked to stay home.  Avoid any parking along South Service Rd. as enforcement will be actioned in the interest of public safety.
