DESCRIPTION:The Art Gallery of Burlington is inviting families to get creative this fall with the Clayin’ Around Family Workshop\, led by ceramic artist and educator Nicole Levaque. This hands-on program offers participants the chance to explore the basics of clay and experiment with forms such as animals\, pinch pots\, coil pots\, and more. \nWorkshops will be held onsite at 1333 Lakeshore Road\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on two Saturdays: September 13\, designed specifically for neurodivergent children and their families\, and September 27\, open to all families. At the end of each session\, participants will choose one piece to be fired and ready for pickup at the gallery within two to four weeks. \nThe program is open to adults accompanied by children ages 4 and up. Costs are $25 per adult and $12 per child\, with member discounts available. \nFamilies interested in the September 13 workshop are encouraged to share any specific needs with Education Coordinator Annie Webber at annie@agb.life to help tailor the experience to each participant.

DESCRIPTION:Experience harvest season as it might have been over 100 years ago at Bronte Creek Provincial Park’s historic Spruce Lane Farm. \nThe Friends of Bronte Creek Park are planning 2 amazing days of demonstrations and activities.\nSo many activities and demonstrations! \nLots of things to do for all ages! \n\nPick and carve your own pumpkin\nKettle corn\, hot dogs\, fresh corn\, apple cider and apple blossoms\nTour our turn-of-the-century farmhouse\nApple cider pressing demonstrations\nSaw a souvenir medallion with a four foot long cross cut saw\nHop on our complimentary wagon ride and take a trip over to the children’s playbarn and farm area (Lot C) which will also be open\n\nParking lot F is closest to the farmhouse. Park in the furthest area and take the park path up to the farm area. Please meet at the fire pit that will be located along the pathway towards Spruce Lane Farmhouse. \nAll guests must obtain a valid park permit. No additional fee to participate. The creative entries might inspire fair goers to tackle similar projects. \nMany of the home craft entries come from urban residents who try their hand at making pies from scratch or explore their abilities as photographers\, crafters or gardeners. Only the judges are allowed to sample the food items\, but there is plenty to eat at the fair including fall fair staples like corndogs\, back bacon-on-a-bun\, cotton candy\, ice cream\, candy apples and Beaver Tails. \nThis year’s fair will feature a classic car show\, live entertainment\, beer tent\, midway\, commercial exhibits\, vendors and more. It all comes together to make Milton Fall Fair a unique way to celebrate and connect with rural life\, with a serving of education and entertainment on the side.
