DESCRIPTION:Residents are invited to celebrate the Robert Bateman Community Centre Phase 1 Opening Celebration\, May 2\, 2026\, from 1 to 4 p.m.  \n\n\nLocated at 5151 New St.\, the Robert Bateman Community Centre is a vibrant\, multi-use hub where education\, recreation\, innovation\, and community connection all come together under one roof. Built through strong community partnerships\, the Centre is actively bringing people together through a wide range of programs\, services\, and shared space.  \n\n\nThe afternoon celebration will include opening remarks by elected officials\, a ceremonial ribbon cutting\, and opportunities to explore the building. Residents can enjoy interactive activities taking place throughout the open areas of the building\, connect with community partners\, and experience all the Centre has to offer.     \n\n\nBurlington Public Library\, Brock University\, TechPlace and Halton District School Board will welcome residents into their spaces\, offering information and interactive activities for all ages.  \n\n\nActivities include:  \n\n\n\nCrafts \n\n\n\n\nFamily Zumba   \n\n\n\n\nFree fun swim at Centennial Pool (1:30-3 p.m.) \n\n\n\n\nFitness and sport challenges \n\n\n\n\nGames  \n\n\n\n\nRefreshments \n\n\n\n\nScavenger hunt
