For extra fun our activity center will feature crafts and games for the whole family. \nFree event! SUMMARY:Iron Pour at Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology
DESCRIPTION:The Steam Museum is pleased to welcome the Canadian Society for Contemporary Iron Arts (CSCIA) for a public Iron Pour! Artists will be on site forging pieces in a live furnace and demonstrating how to use scratch blocks to create works of art from cast iron. Visitors will be able to speak with artists\, watch demonstrations\, and purchase a scratch block to make their own iron designs on site (limited quantities available). Enjoy free admission to the museum to view the amazing iron work of the 1859 Pumphouse engines and miniature train rides operated by volunteers from the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers club. \nFurnace will be ready to pour iron at 2pm. Train Rides will be running from 11am to 3pm. \nFree event and museum admission!

Throughout the month\, Indigenous speakers—including Knowledge Keepers\, artists\, and community members—will share stories\, perspectives\, and teachings rooted in culture\, community\, and connection to the land. \nToday: Painted Feather Workshop with Moses Lunham 1:00-3:00 \nJoin us for a hands-on painted feather workshop led by Moses Lunham\, an Anishinaabe artist from Kettle and Stony Point First Nation. Participants will explore their creativity while painting their own unique wooden feather in a welcoming and guided environment. This program includes all required art materials\, as well as a special live raptor visit for inspiration.   $50 \nTeachings of Lacrosse 12:00-1:00 and 2:00-3:00 \nJoin Kevin Sandy of the Iroquois Lacrosse Program in the Longhouse Village for an engaging presentation on lacrosse\, exploring the history\, teachings\, and cultural significance of the game. Through storytelling\, discussion\, and hands-on demonstrations\, visitors will learn about lacrosse as more than just a sport. Two one-hour sessions will be held during the day.
