DESCRIPTION:St. Catharines Fire Services’ popular Hot Summer Nights community event returns this week for its fifth year\, combining giant sprinkler fun with important fire safety education. \nDuring the summer\, St. Catharines Fire Services’ ladder trucks and dedicated fire prevention team will be visiting a different city park every week\, transforming their vehicles into giant sprinklers. \nThose who attend can tour the fire trucks and learn crucial fire safety practices\, including hands-on fire safety training with the fire prevention team. \n“Hot Summer Nights is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together\, learn about fire safety\, and enjoy some summer fun\,” Fire Chief Dave Upper said\, adding “We’re excited to share with residents potentially life-saving fire prevention and fire safety knowledge and provide a fun\, unique way to beat the heat.” \nHot Summer Nights promises fun-filled evenings of community engagement\, fire safety education\, and refreshing water activities for residents of all ages. SUMMARY:Train Days with the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers
DESCRIPTION:Catch a ride on a miniature train\, operated by the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers! Various model engines will be running on the miniature railroad track at the museum from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Museum of Steam & Technology will also be free offering self guided tours of the Boiler house and Pumphouse. Learn about Hamilton’s steam-powered Waterworks\, built in 1859. For extra fun our activity center will feature crafts and games for the whole family. \nFree event! Museum admission by donation. \nPlease note that train rides may be canceled in inclement weather. Cancellation notices will be posted to our Instagram and Facebook pages.
