SUMMARY:Iron Pour at Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology
DESCRIPTION:The Steam Museum is pleased to welcome the Canadian Society for Contemporary Iron Arts (CSCIA) for a public Iron Pour! Artists will be on site forging pieces in a live furnace and demonstrating how to use scratch blocks to create works of art from cast iron. Visitors will be able to speak with artists\, watch demonstrations\, and purchase a scratch block to make their own iron designs on site (limited quantities available). Enjoy free admission to the museum to view the amazing iron work of the 1859 Pumphouse engines and miniature train rides operated by volunteers from the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers club. \nFurnace will be ready to pour iron at 2pm. Train Rides will be running from 11am to 3pm. \nFree event and museum admission!

Through this fun and engaging event\, students will learn about traffic safety\, signaling\, required safety gear\, the rules of the road\, proper helmet and bike fit\, and have the chance to practice their riding skills in a safe\, supervised environment. \nPlease bring your own bike and helmet to participate in the activities.
