Welcome back to the Weekend Wrap Up – and Hello 2018! If your resolution is to spend more time with the ones you love, we’re here to help! Let’s see what we can do this weekend…
If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the family, The Home Depot has got a great workshop for kids that will teach them about building. Kids can learn how to build their very own Block Calendar out of wood. These workshops happen in Hamilton and Oakville, NOT Burlington.
Michael’s Kid’s Club let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. This week’s craft is an absolutely adorable snowman canvas.
This Saturday marks 2 additional Tim Horton’s Free Skate sessions. Admission is first come, first serve, so either be early, or prepare for the worst (we’ve never gotten into one yet).
Discover the magic of winter at night, the snow illuminated by moonlight and the stars bright in the night sky. Your guide will lead you on a snowshoe hike through Mountsberg’s beautiful landscape. The evening will end fireside with some tasty hot chocolate. Not recommended for children under the age of 10. Pre-registration required.
Bounce the evening away at Rockin’ Saturday at Rockin’ Jump! It’s an all-ages open jump night starting at 8 p.m. Included in your admission are 2 hours of jumping, a free slice of pizza and a fountain drink!
The Art Gallery of Burlington’s Creative Hub is one of our favourite places to visit in Burlington. Last Sunday, the open studio volunteers guided us in ways to make a Picasso inspired guitar using cardboard tissue boxes, buttons, tape and bottle caps! Check out our Instagram for pictures. It’s a free drop-in and a definite hidden gem in Burlington.
Has the winter hustle caused havoc with your kid’s sleep schedule? Don’t worry Jamie from Good Night Sleep Site has her weekly Facebook Live chat where you can ask questions and offer support to other parents struggling with sleep, too.
