Turn your nose up at Mother Nature and choose indoor swimming or indoor ice skating this weekend! Both are perfect ways to spend time with your favourite people, all while being active! Or, if you’re a hockey fan, why not drop into a game of Shinny?

Sunday

The Art Gallery of Burlington’s Creative Hub is one of our favourite places to visit in Burlington. Last Sunday, the open studio volunteers guided us in ways to make a Picasso inspired guitar using cardboard tissue boxes, buttons, tape and bottle caps! Check out our Instagram for pictures. It’s a free drop-in and a definite hidden gem in Burlington.

Frogs! RBG’s Winter Exhibit ends this weekend, so get out there while you can! If you’ve never thought of frogs as beautiful, this exhibition will change your mind. Apple Kid’s Hour – Making Movies Together is dedicated to exploring creativity through movie making for both kids and parents. We’ll start with brainstorming ideas. Then kids will practice basic camera techniques and shoot footage using iPad Pro. They’ll finish by creating a professional movie trailer with iMovie. Kids can bring their own iPad or we’ll provide one. Recommended for ages 6-12.

Enjoy a guided hike through some of the most lovely trails in our city. Each week there is a new meeting place, and a new path to explore. This week’s meeting point is Cootes North Shore.

Calling all sleuths to Ireland House’s Lego Club: Mystery! An artefact has gone missing from the museum, and we need your help to find it! We will follow evidence left behind by the thief to discover their identity and recover our stolen artefact. We’ll work on our code-cracking skills, and use Lego to help us overcome obstacles that we encounter on our adventure.

Program Robots with Swift Playgrounds at Apple Mapleview where kids 12 and older will bring robots to life in a hands-on session featuring MeeBot and Swift Playgrounds.
