The Weekend Wrap Up is your weekly resource for everything family-friendly happening in your area. Spend this gorgeous weekend with your favourite people in your favourite neighbourhoods!

If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the family, Home Depot has a great workshop for kids that will teach them about building. Kids can learn how to build their very own fishing game out of wood. Happening at Home Depot stores in Oakville and Hamilton.

At the New Appleby branch of Burlington Public Library, STEAM starts with science! Hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Drop in for ages 6-9.

Let your kids explore their creativity at the Michaels Kids Club. Choose from two projects designed specifically for your little maker’s age range. $2, ages 3-8 or $5, ages 6+, supplies are included. This week you’re making a “Leafy Fun” craft.

It’s Sat-ART-Day, so grab your friends and family and drop into Tansley Woods BPL to create some art using supplies from the Loose Parts table.

Grab the popcorn! It’s Family Favourites Movie time at Cineplex. For only $2.99 a person, you can take the fam to watch the super funny Secret Life of Pets!

Or, if you prefer, visit the New Appleby (Nutty Professor) and Aldershot (A Wrinkle in Time) branches of the BPL and watch a Family Flick at 2:00 p.m.

It’s a great afternoon to visit the Central library and be part of Eco-Explorers! Whether we take a stroll outside or bring the outside in, come for hands-on activities and crafts to learn about the world around us.

Burlington Art Gallery Open StudioThe Art Gallery of Burington is a favourite spot of ours, especially on Sundays when they open up their Creative Hub for a free, drop-in creative arts class. Kids use all mediums to create mini-masterpieces, and volunteer artisans are there to help guide and support.

The NEW Burlington Activity Plex facility will be hosting a fantastic Open House event. Businesses that cater to busy families and active kids will offer free classes, demos, giveaways and more! Be sure to visit the new kid’s gym, Gymalaya, and you could win a free – and awesome – prize!

Join the Maple Avenue community at Thorpe Park on Sunday for pick-up games and activities.

Get Back to Nature with a free, guided hike with the Royal Botanical Gardens. Each week there is a new meeting place, and a new path to explore.

Join Fit in the Core every Sunday outside City Hall from featuring a different class & instructor each week from our downtown fitness providers! This week take part in Slow Flow Vinyasa with 7th Wave Yoga.

Have a blast this weekend, and remember, if you found a new family event because of Active Parents, please tell your friends about our page! And tag your pictures with #thingstodoinburlon and #activeparentsca to be featured on our social media!
