No matter what you preference – be it hiking, music, parks, donkeys, or LEGO – there’s over 20 things to do this weekend, and even more ways to make it great!

 

Saturday

The Brightside Initiative ‘s drop in program is for children of all ages! They provide opportunities for children and their parents to engage in open ended, creative fun. Their creative curators are on the ground playing with the participants and helping to push the play forward!

 

Dads and their children have the chance to talk with other dads and kids, plus learn games and songs and play with their children at the OEYC Dad’s Program.

 

Visit the RBG for the launch of their newest exhibit, Nature Connects. Nature Connects takes the beauty of the natural world and puts it on display using the world’s most popular building block, creating a fun and inspiring exhibit that teaches people of all ages the importance of connecting with nature.

 

Calvary is hosting a great afternoon of ball hockey and pizza on Saturday at 4. Come and play, or bring and chair and cheer on the players.

 

Kids 3 and up can make an awesome Mountie Hat craft at Michaels stores. Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid to make a lovely keepsake of their family.

 

Whoever “Dad” is to you, bring him along for science & food fun, games, a keepsake gift to create together, and much more.

 

Drop into the gym at Brant Hills this weekend for Play Fit with the family to explore new toys and equipment. Enjoy the experience and enhance your child’s FUNdamental Movement Skills.

 

Surprise your kids with a big-screen viewing A Dog’s Purpose at The Cineplex Family Favourite movies are only $2.99 each! Bring the tissues!

 

 

Sunday

The Art Gallery of Burlington’s Creative Hub is a drop-in open art studio, where kids will have the whole studio to themselves. Pick a station and make a masterpiece! It’s a free drop in, and a definite hidden gem.

 

Sunday is Donkey Day 2017! Visit the Donkey Sanctuary for their annual event, complete with 80 donkeys and mules, kids fun fest, and more!

 

The Sound of Music, in partnership with the City of Burlington, is excited to announce an additional day of FREE concerts on Sunday!

 

Each week Yoga in the Park will feature a different, fully qualified volunteer instructor leading the masses in a peaceful practice. This week, gather at Hidden Valley Park with your mat and water.

 

The Hamilton Mini Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

 

Take the whole family, to Be Yoga’s Fam Jam yoga class this weekend, where you will enjoy an hour on their mats. Fun games and interactive poses will invite everyone to connect together in healthy, positive ways.

Enjoy a guided hike through some of the most lovely trails in our city, and you won’t be disappointed. Each week there is a new meeting place, and a new path to explore. This week’s meeting point is Princess Point.

 

Drop into Haber if the rain starts for their open court pick up basketball. All ages and skill levels welcome!
