HELLO OCTOBER! This Sunday brings us into a new month, and with that means a whole new list of ways to celebrate the time together with your family. Don’t waste a minute, let’s find something amazing to do this weekend!

Saturday Weekend Wrap Up

Little artists love the Kids Club at Michaels, where for only $2.00 they get to create an awesome work of art, and you’ll get to shop the store. This week the kids are making an adorable pom-pom pumpkin banner!

Visit the Burlington Mall Farmers Market every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for locally grown produce and fresh foods. Take the kids and get their help to stock up on fruits and veggies to fill up those school lunch boxes!

Doors Open Burlington takes you behind the scenes at Burlington heritage sites, noteworthy buildings, and interesting locations – FREE of charge. Many of these buildings and locations will offer special activities during the day.

As part of Doors Open Burlington, fire stations across Burlington will be hosting special public tours to kick off Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 8-14 this year. Meet your local firefighters, learn about the tools they use and participate in fire prevention activities to become your home’s fire safety expert!

One of the biggest animated movies of the year is BACK! If you missed Boss Baby this summer, now’s your chance to see it! It is this week’s feature as part of the Cineplex Family Favourite Movies. Tickets are only $2.99 per person!

Cogeco will be hosting a free family movie night at Cogeco’s head office in Burlington. This event will be open to anyone and everyone who wishes to join. It is absolutely free – even the popcorn! The movie is Zootopia, and Skye from Paw Patrol & Teenage Ninja Turtle Character will be on site before the movie for photos!

Bounce the evening away at Rockin’ Saturday at Rockin’ Jump! It’s an all-ages open jump night starting at 8 p.m. Included in your admission are 2 hours of jumping, a free slice of pizza and a fountain drink!

Sunday Weekend Wrap Up

The Art Gallery of Burlington’s Creative Hub is a drop-in open art studio, where kids will have the whole studio to themselves. Rotate through the stations at your own pace, and at each one, create a masterpiece to take home with you! It’s a free drop-in and a definite hidden gem in Burlington.

The Orchard Street Festival is designed to bring the neighbourhood together to have fun, enjoy meeting each other and generate feelings of community pride. Children will enjoy the carnival games, face painting, balloon artist, and crafts. Bring your appetite as local food trucks and vendors will dot Orchard Road with their unique and tasty selections.

This Sunday, from 2-4pm, is THANKFEST at Nextdoor Social Space-FREE BBQ, live music -sing along, crafts, harvest family photo booth, apples and ball hockey! Please come join us and bring your neighbours!

Enjoy a guided hike through some of the most lovely trails in our city, and you won’t be disappointed. Each week a skilled and knowledgeable volunteer will guide you through a new path. A great afternoon spent with family!

Create fall memories with the entire family at TERRA’s Fun Fall Fest! Corn maze, treats for kiddies, a selfie station, and fall workshops!

Springridge Farm’s Harvest Festival is this weekend! Take the whole family and enjoy a professional puppet show, wagon rides to the 5-acre corn trail, a spooky boo bar, and pony rides!

Come out and join the fun at Bronte Creek’s annual Harvest Festival, pumpkin picking, demonstrations, a maze and much more!
