Weekend Wrap Up – September 23-24, 2017

By in Weekend Wrap-Up

Welcome to the first official fall weekend in Ontario – I don’t think Mother Nature is using the same calendar though!

Saturday Weekend Wrap Up

Little artists love the Kids Club at Michaels, where for only $2.00 they get to create an awesome work of art, and you’ll get to shop the store. This week the kids are making craft stick critters.

Visit the Burlington Mall Farmers Market every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for locally grown produce and fresh foods. Stock up on fruits and veggies to fill up those school lunch boxes!

Gather up some tissues, and take your kids to experience a classic from back-in-the-day: The Princess Bride. It is this week’s feature as part of the Cineplex Family Favourite Movies. Tickets are only $2.99 per person!

Milton Mall’s Kids Club is bringing the classics back! Kids’ Club friends are making their own Snakes & Ladders Board Game at 10 am.

Bring your kids for the ultimate GO NINJA Training Experience at Toys R Us. Look like a Ninja when you grab a FREE LEGO Ninjago Headband, then move like a Ninja as you take part in Go Ninja training activities in-store!

Visit Pajama Night Starry Nights- Mountsberg and relax under the stars as you learn more about the night sky with our special guest astronomers who will guide us through night sky exploration. Enjoy a starry snack and storytelling by the fire.

Bounce the week away at Rockin’ Saturday at Rockin’ Jump! It’s an all-ages open jump night starting at 8 p.m. Included in your admission are 2 hours of jumping, a free slice of pizza and a fountain drink!

Sunday Weekend Wrap Up

The Art Gallery of Burlington’s Creative Hub is a drop-in open art studio, where kids will have the whole studio to themselves. Rotate through the stations at your own pace, and at each one, create a masterpiece to take home with you! It’s a free drop-in and a definite hidden gem in Burlington.

The annual Appleby Line Street Festival is bringing families and neighbourhoods together by making the streets come alive with activity on Appleby Line between New St. and Fairview St.

Bring the family out and enjoy the final public viewing session at the Burlington Model Railway Club at Hidden Valley Park. Kids will get to see model trains running and talk to the other train enthusiasts.

Enjoy a guided hike through some of the most lovely trails in our city, and you won’t be disappointed. Each week a skilled and knowledgeable volunteer will guide you through a new path. A great afternoon spent with family!

Create fall memories with the entire family at TERRA’s Fun Fall Fest! Corn maze, treats for kiddies, a selfie station, and fall workshops!

Springridge Farm’s Harvest Festival is this weekend! Take the whole family and enjoy a professional puppet show, wagon rides to the 5-acre corn trail, a spooky boo bar, and pony rides!

Come out and join the fun at Bronte Creek’s annual Harvest Festival, pumpkin picking, demonstrations, a maze and much more!

Active Parents PA Day Party

These events and more are all on our weekend calendar here. Check them all out and plan some local family fun into your weekend! And make sure to take advantage of these hot-hot-hot temperatures by visiting a local beach while you still can! Read our guide to local sandy spots here.
