Free and Cheap Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day

Free and Cheap Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day

Dad’s are some of the easiest people on the planet to please. So let us help inspire some ways to spoil Dad on his day!

Breakfast of Champions

Why not make Dad a delicious breakfast of homemade pancakes or waffles and a nutrient-packed smoothie? Or, skip the kitchen altogether and for only $5 a person, enjoy an authentic homemade pancake breakfast at Ireland House on Sunday.

Walk and Roll with Dad

Get some fresh air and quality time with a walk through Bronte Park, ride your bikes along the bikeway path alongside Lake Ontario, or hike in one of the beautiful parks at Conservation Halton or Conservation Hamilton. DId you know you can even borrow a bike for no cost from the City of Burlington?

Cheer on The Home Team

It’s a beautiful time to take in a ball game in the fresh air. Why not watch a Hamilton Cardinals baseball game, or catch a soccer game with the new Hamilton Forge FC.

Make a Splash

Head to Goldfish Swim School in Oakville on Friday for their Father’s Dad Family Swim or on Sunday for their Dad Olympics!

Celebrate Canada’s Proud History

Take Dad aboard the legendary HMCS Haida, a Tribal class destroyer that served in the Second World War, the Korean Conflict and the Cold War. Or visit the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum as they celebrate Father’s Day weekend. The Dads in our family highly recommend both of these locations

Connect with Nature

Whether you’re an avid fisher or you don’t like worms in the least, an afternoon fishing off a dock is one of the most peaceful ways to spend an afternoon. FInd great pots to cast your line in Burlington or Hamilton here.

Get Spic and Span in the Driveway

Nothing says summer fun like washing the car in the driveway. Bubbles, sponges, and of course the hose – surprise Dad by giving his wheels the royal treatment, inside and out!

Whatever way you celebrate or are celebrated, we wish you a Happy Father’s Day!
